In the copper industry, Umicore treats anode slimes, doré slags and various residues rich in gold, silver and platinum group metals. For lead producers, Umicore accepts drosses and mattes, speiss, doré slags and flue dusts bearing precious metal content and other precious metals bearing materials. By treating these intermediates, we add value while assisting in impurity management. In the zinc industry, Umicore sources byproducts such as lead sulphate, copper cement, silver concentrate and drosses and skimmings from the remelting of anodes in zinc operations.
