What you will be doing

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager Project Control and Planning to join the Engineering team of out Battery Materials Business unit within Umicore, based in Brussels, Belgium. In this role you play a key role in overseeing and integrating  program & portfolio planning initiatives, reporting to the Senior Director Advanced Planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Issue integrated master planning based on detailed program/project planning outlooks
  • Keep planning & forecast control up to date; prepare schedule updates for reviews.
  • Manage regional, site, product & customer time plans in line with global master planning
  • Integrate functional/domain & customer roadmaps with key program execution milestones
  • Supervise site planners to ensure projects meet critical milestones and mitigate risks
  • Report and alert deviations and risks of not meeting timelines
  • Partner with demand planners to define early warning systems on execution risks
  • Collaborate with P&T to offer acceleration opportunities on procurement and construction.
  • Partner with site planners for benchmarking exercises to improve execution
  • Capture user feedback and lessons learned for future projects; collaborate in audits
  • Ensure tasks are carried out safely and comply with environmental, health & safety rules
  • Lead feedback to Planisware platform for design upgrades and new features
  • Manage user rights, access rights, and capability building for Engineering PLanisware platform
  • Partner with key stakeholders in E2E program to manage execution impact
  • Establish KPIs, track progress, analyze data, and communicate plans to stakeholders

Who we are looking for

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience with Project Controls and Planning, ideally with proven experience in Automotive (APQP) or Material/Mining Industry or alternatively in a regulated industry
  • University degree or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, preferably Masters in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical & Instrumentation/Automation
  • Technical experience and/or background in the execution of engineering projects (of specialties above mentioned) and proven experience and understanding in the execution of industrial projects in operational environments.
  • Knowledge of EHS standards, industry good practices and legal requirements applicable to the specialty of focus.
  • Knowledge of industrial project trades and the interactions between all trades (project management, construction management, civil/building/facilities, electrical, piping, process, equipment and start-up activities).
  • Computer literate with strong solid understanding of the MS Office package specially Excel, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Outstanding proficiency in the use of project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project (0365 or Office 2019) or Planisware Version 7
  • Desired proficiency in spreadsheet & dashboard applications, such as MS Power BI. MS Excel & Tableau
  • Desired Project or Portfolio Management certification (PMI or Prince2)
  • Fluent (written and verbal) English
