About The Role

We are currently looking for a Consolidation & IFRS manager to join our Finance department in Brussels, Belgium. Reporting to the Senior Consolidation Manager you apply your expertise in accounting, consolidation techniques and IFRS to autonomously manage a set of consolidation tasks required for the Group monthly financial reporting, ad-hoc IFRS analysis as well as for the externally published financial statements. You act as a key player of the Consolidation team for the monthly closing processes in compliance with IFRS.

Responsibilities:

  • Take an active role in the consolidation process (equity reconciliation, consolidation elimination entries, consolidation accounting entries,…)
  • Perform the needed controls on the consolidation packages entering the system
  • Provide assistance to remote sites as needed
  • Assist in half-yearly consolidation process in order to prepare financial statements based on the consolidated values
  • Act as a coordinator with the tax department, reflect with them on an optimal tax reporting in compliance with new tax legislation
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis according to management requests
  • Act in the digitalization/automation roadmap by being a key element in the deployment of new consolidation tools
  • Ensure the inclusion of the new subsidiaries into the consolidation system
  • Ensure integration of the new entities into the intercompany scope
  • Provide training to new people
  • Ensuring the accounting, consolidation and financial reporting is in accordance with IFRS.
  • Assist in IFRS analysis and business partnering for contemplated transactions to assess their potential impact of Group accounts
  • Ensure SAP accounts structure of the group companies are in line with the Group chart of accounts

Who we are looking for

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of financial experience in Consolidation, accounting or external audit with IFRS experience
  • Master’s degree in Economics or finance or equivalent by experience;
  • Good technical background in accounting, IFRS, consolidation and tax
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken), any additional European languages are a plus
  • Able to work in a highly IS system driven environment : Consolidation and Reporting tools, office tools, SharePoint, disclosure management solution; knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage several tasks effectively
  • Positive mindset and strong team spirit
  • Stress resistance, accuracy and pro-active approach
  • Good communication including communication of technical or financial information to a non-technical audience in a concise way
  • Innovate mindset with openness to changes and to improvements
